Join rare books scholar Charles Bartman and historic interiors expert Patrick Lucas as we explore books and libraries in early Kentucky. Bartman will speak on early private libraries in Kentucky and Lucas will explore the role of books in 18th- and 19th-century parlor culture. The day culminates with tours of the Senator John Brown Library & Archives and our temporary exhibit, Reading the Browns, and a performance of a short play inspired by the words and books of John and Margaretta Brown. 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. $45 registration fee ($40 for members) includes morning refreshments and lunch.
