Meet our Panel~
Meet Peggy Noe Stevens - In many ways, Peggy has been a trail blazer for women, and yet has lived up to her heritage. She became the world’s first female Master Bourbon Taster in the industry and can trace her lineage back to some of the great bourbon making families in Kentucky. In 2011, she founded Bourbon Women, the first women’s consumer organization in the beverage industry. Since its inception, Bourbon Women has grown to include members from over 35 states and three countries transforming the industry and attracting corporate support from the top names in the bourbon.
Meet Joyce Nethery - Joyce Nethery is the co-founder, co-owner, and master distiller for the Jeptha Creed Distillery located in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Jeptha in the Jeptha Creed distillery name is based on the location of their current Shelby County farm that is in an area called the Jeptha Knobs, named by Squire and Daniel Boone during the exploration of Kentucky in the late 1700s. This area had a natural salt lick that attracted wildlife such as buffalo, deer, and turkey. The Boone’s named the area Jeptha after a biblical warrior found in Judges, Chapter 11. Creed is for their promise to honor those values as the distillery grows.
Meet Jane Bowie - A 16 year “still learning veteran” in the industry, Jane’s first “paid” job in bourbon was serving as the first international employee and Global Brand Ambassador for The Historic Maker’s Mark Distillery. When she left Maker’s in 2022, she was the head of Blending and Innovation for the brand. Today she and business partner, Denny Potter, are in the process of building a greenfield distillery in Washington County, Kentucky. They will be operational in January of 2025 (if they don’t kill each other first).
