Description
What’s one of the most enlightening ways for students to learn about the real-world relationship between education and career opportunities, lifestyle choices and monthly budgets? The Chamber’s Education Committee believes it is attending Reality Check! Reality Check is a hands-on interactive educational experience that will be presented to all seventh-grade students in Franklin County on March 23, 2022, at KSU Exum Center.
Similar to the game of “Life”, each student will choose an occupation with a monthly income comparable to industries in our region. They proceed through the Reality Check booths manned by business community volunteers, representing everything from housing choices to entertainment. In each instance, the student must make a choice and reduce the corresponding cost from their income. The point of the simulation game is to make choices that fit within the assigned income…. And allow for unexpected expenses!
