Description
The geology of Franklin County influences everything from the course of the Kentucky River and its connecting streams to the plants and animals that live in our area. Geologist Brandon Nuttall will discuss how geologic forces have influenced the development of our landscape for millions of years. He will talk about how the rocks around us tell of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, storms, tides, sand dunes and beaches, landslides (current) and slumps (ancient), sinkholes and caves, and even the Old Capitol building. This free event will take place in the Library Community Room. Please register online, at the Library, or by contacting Diane Dehoney at 352-2665x108 or diane@pspl.org. "The Natural History of Franklin County" series is sponsored by the Woods and Waters Land Trust and PSPL.
